About UMOM 

Founded in 1964, UMOM is Arizona's larger provider of services for families experiencing homelessness. Our mission is to prevent and end homelessness using innovative strategies and housing solutions that meet the unique needs of each family and individual. With an annual operating budget of 18 million dollars, UMOM provides shelter, housing, and supportive services to youth, families, and individuals experiencing homelessness in Maricopa County. UMOM serves just over 12,000 unique individuals across all of our services annually, including those families receiving support at the Family Housing Hub.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide efficient, friendly customer service to residents, volunteers, guests and UMOM staff members.
  2. Provide assistance to residents with daily activities.
  3. Maintain and update school list as necessary.
  4. Assist residents in understanding and following program guidelines and policies, providing written documentation when appropriate.
  5. Provide assistance to residents in emergencies, making contact with on-call, CPS, police or fire department as needed.
  6. Monitor grounds and facilities in order to ensure safety and security for all residents.
  7. Provide transportation to residents to/from the BRAINS clinic, Midwestern University, and other destinations as assigned.
  8. Maintain the agency vehicle schedule and assist staff with checking vehicles in/out.
  9. Conduct room checks and follow up accordingly.
  10. Assist with kitchen and grounds clean up as needed.
  11. Ensure that residents sign in/out when entering and exiting campus.
  12. Perform room searches as requested and monitor move-outs.
  13. Assist with donations as needed.
  14. Distribute written information to residents as needed.
  15. Assist residents in purchasing 31-day bus passes and stamps as needed.
  16. Submit work orders as necessary.
  17. Comply with established agency policies and procedures.

 * Schedule, 10pm-6am with Tuesday And Wednesday Off, full time $11.50*


  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Must be 21 years of age due to licensing requirements
  • 1 year social service experience preferred
  • Valid Arizona Driver License and in compliance with UMOM's driving policy
  • Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card or the ability to obtain one
